Another Convert

Apparently Ben Folds has hopped on the keytar bandwagon too (video).

What hath God wrought?

  1. Ben Folds looks like he wasn't a willing participant in this photo shoot.

  2. Ben Folds is coming to Truman in a few weeks and I'm pretty sure that I'm going--I'll let you know if there is a keytar appearance!

  3. Ben Folds has slouched onto the Emo bandwagon for this photo shoot. Characterized by pouty, misunderstood faces, hair that threatens to overrun forehead, eyes, maybe nose, and an old sportscoat (possibly with corduroy elbow-guards) over a too-small tee, Emo is a force to be reckoned with so Know Your Emo-ny.

  4. Maybe Orin and I should "go" Emo. Also, i just realized that, in this picture, Ben Folds looks like Dana Carvey doing an impersonation of Ben Folds. Just an observation.

  5. (Sigh) Buzzkill time. Ben Folds is the anti-emo. His song "Rockin' the Suburbs" is all about artists who sell to whiny suburb kids who don't know real pain. "Y'all don't know what it's like being male, middle class and white."

Second, Ben has be rocking the Keytar for a while. He just hasn't been comfortable enough to do photo shoots with it til now. For that, I can only imagine we have Orin to thank. Bravo.

And Ben Folds is an amazing show. Amazing. One of my top 5 shows. That is all.

  6. That's awesome. I'd forgotten how much I liked Ben Folds, and this song in particular. I'd never seen the video, though. I love that Weird Al plays his producer, and the keytar is in the hands of his Limp Bizkit character.

  7. Look, it's not that I don't like Ben Folds, or certain Emo bands for that matter. I'm not talking about music at all, I'm talking about The Important Element of music today--FASHION! Duh. And the fashion above is Emo.
